PZAZZ! Security Supervisor Rescues Patron
A Keokuk man will be recognized for his bravery and heroism on Tuesday, December 8th at 11am at the PZAZZ! Convention and Event Center in Burlington, IA. Tim Briscoe, a Security Supervisor employed by Catfish Bend Casino has been credited for saving a man’s life while on duty at The PZAZZ! Entertainment Complex on October 12, 2009.

A PZAZZ! patron had collapsed and was lying on the floor when Briscoe was notified by security guards of the critical situation. When he arrived on the scene, Briscoe, a trained CPR specialist, checked the 76-year-old gentleman’s vital signs and found no pulse. He immediately called for an ambulance and started delivering chest compressions. After a few minutes of administrating CPR, Briscoe checked the patron's vital signs again and found a very weak pulse. He continued to perform CPR until the paramedics arrived. The paramedics claimed that the man would not have survived without the quick response and heroics of Tim Briscoe.

The entire crew from the Burlington Fire Department that responded that day will be in attendance to recognize Brisco as well as a representative from the American Red Cross.

Briscoe will receive a special recognition by his employer, Great River Entertainment. “We are extremely proud of Tim Briscoe”, said Rob Higgins, General Manager of PZAZZ! and Catfish Bend Casino. “His quick thinking and courageous actions are to be admired. He did not panic and conducted himself calmly and professionally. We are grateful to have Tim as an employee and thankful [the patron's] health continues to improve.”

Briscoe has been employed by the casino since April of 2006 and has been in his current role as a Security Supervisor for 2 1/2 years.
